Review on The Elephant Man
The Elephant Man was a very interesting film to watch. Personally, I enjoyed it quite a lot since it conveyed a positive message throughout the film. I liked how the film showed how one should not judge someone based on their looks. We see John Merrick who, to be honest, is a deformed being that at first glance does not look human. As the film progresses, we find out that he is a very smart and loving individual that has been mistreated. I think that the movie did a wonderful job showing that. In addition, although it could seem too dramatic at some points, the film included very interesting scenes of John Merrick's dreams/nightmares and his mother. These scenes were very mysterious, and while I was confused at some points, I think they added a very unique touch to the film. The black and white of the film added a nice touch as well as it made everything more dramatic. Even though this film was quite heartbreaking to watch sometimes, I believe that this movie was very well made and John Merrick in The Elephant Man, will be one of my favorites.

My Name is John Merrick...
After I was rescued by the "freaks", I was looking
forward to returning to London. I was scared and frightened, but I knew I was
now away from Mr. Bytes. I felt like i had been torn away from a new life. It
was a new life that I was beyond grateful for. When I arrived on the boat, I
felt everyone’s stares, but i did not mind too much since everyone had a
similar reaction upon seeing me. I was alone and isolated and I felt nothing
but sadness. When I got off the train in London I was in a hurry to get to my destination.
However, some boys decided to chase me, trying to get me to show myself from
under my head cover. I had never felt so attacked, so I decided to pick up
my speed. I ended up accidently dropping a little girl in the process and I
panicked. A mob of people began to chase after me. This frightened me, but at
the same time it angered me. I was not a spectacle, and I was not a sight for
curious eyes. I am more than my condition: I am a human. I have never felt such
a grand relief until I yelled that “I am not an animal, I am a human being, I
am a man.”

Welcome to my Nightmare bwahahaha
I have a massive fear of needles, specifically those that are used at clinics and hospitals. That is probably the reason why I can remember one of biggest nightmares that I've had. The nightmare began with a huge fire that had spread close to my neighborhood. The fire happened so quickly that my family and I barely even evacuated in time. The unrealistic part of this is that we ran to the Staples Center for sanctuary even though it is really about 20 minutes away, by car. Anyway, at this time many people had found protection inside the venue so my family and I decided to follow the rest of the people inside. Things ended up taking an unexpected toll as the lights from inside went dim, but no one panicked. At this time doctors appeared out of nowhere with syringes and proceeded to stick them into people's arms, mercilessly. I panicked and started yelling at my parents to leave, but it was one of those dreams where you talk but no sound is heard. The lighting was very eerie and the last thing I remember is a doctor with several syringes in his hand. I think that my fear of needles definitely made this one of the worst nightmares ever. I also believe that my fear for needles increased a lot more after having this nightmare. I am working on overcoming this fear, but I cannot see a needle enter someone's skin AT ALL because I freak out.
