Compassionate Science

It is important that compassionate science becomes well known in society and in the world today. A compassionate scientist must be dedicated to their work, self-less, and willing to do whatever it takes to help someone, with ever-growing technology. A lot of scientists seem to come up with great technology for the sake of money. Some don't even think about he well-being of the people; instead, they care about the success for themselves. Compassionate scientists, on the other hand, are and should be willing to share their great knowledge and technology with those who will benefit the most. If technology is meant to be a huge deal to humanity, why doesn't everyone benefit from it or get their own share? Compassionate science should be used more often so that everyone is able to get something out of technology, not just those who have money. If someone needs a new arm, it shouldn't just be given to those who can afford it.

The Future

I believe that ten years from now, there will not be much a difference. However, at the rate our world is going there might be new plans to help people live even longer and there might be a ton of new medications. There might be a lot of new cellphone models and high technology cars, but I don't think it's going to be a drastic change from today. In ten years I might have a family and it's going to be hard to try to get kids to not use electronic devices. I feel that in time, toys that I use to play with will no longer exist. In about 100 years from now I feel like our Earth is going to be a mess. Climate change will affect our world and technology will get out of hand. There might possibly even be a World War III between 10-100 years from now. With our current society and action towards this world I feel like if humanity is going to eventually destroy itself. There is going to be a limit to technology and I feel like scientists are going to try very hard to make the world "a better place" when in reality its just possibly going to hurt the people in the end. Yes, people 10-50 years from now will probably be safe due to new medications and scientific inventions, but eventually I feel like that is going to come to an end for the worst.

One Time I Laughed Really, Really Hard

One time I laughed really, really hard was in elementary school when a kid had fallen during recess. It sounds like a harsh thing to say, but the kid himself was laughing so it was okay. However, it got to the point where I could not stop laughing because I kept replaying the little scene of him falling over and over again. It kind of resembled that of a cartoon where the character slips on a banana peel. It didn't help that he had made quite a funny noise when it happened. Now that I think about it, it wasn't really funny at all. When it happened, however, I along with others kids laughed. Once they all stopped I continued to laugh and some of my friends looked at me and said:"It's not even that funny." The thing is that I could not since the falling scenario seemed to get funnier in my head. In addition, I have a pretty weird imagination sometimes so I began to imagine him falling in a different setting. I stopped laughing a little while later, but nonetheless I had tears in my eyes. I'm a pretty humorous person so I'm constantly laughing and joking around, but this moment will forever stay in my memory.

Modern Times

Modern Times was quite an interesting and funny movie. The humor in this movie was definitely my favorite aspect, however the message that Charlie Chaplin tried to invoke was also very intriguing. One thing that was significant was the fact that Chaplin was trying to show the people that current man in society was miserable. Although some scenes were hilarious, it was clearly evident that many people during that time were desperate for jobs to have some food on the table. I think it was very smart that Chaplin made the movie the way it was because it captures the viewer's attention and at the same time portrays the life of a miserable, working society. It is a form of entertainment, however, the message behind it is also very important. This movie was very touching and I felt that it made me see certain things in a different perspective. I really enjoyed this movie for that reason.
